Indian student in US accidentally shoots self dead on birthday while cleaning gun

New Delhi: 23-year-old Aryan Reddy was happily celebrating his birthday in the US but little did he know the joy would turn to tragedy for his family. On his birthday, Aryan died after he accidentally shot himself with a gun.

The incident took place on November 13 in Atlanta, Georgia in the US. According to reports, Aryan was cleaning his hunting gun at home when it accidentally went off with the bullet hitting him in the chest.

His friends, who were in another room, rushed to him after hearing the gunshot and found him lying in a pool of blood and rushed him to a hospital but he was declared dead, NDTV reported.

Reddy was studying in the second year of Master in Science at the Kansas State University in Atlanta and hailed from Bhuvanagiri district in Telangana. Although, his family is now living in the Uppal district.

The report said Aryan’s family has been informed of his demise and efforts are on to bring his mortal remains to his hometown on Friday night.
