New Delhi: India and Pakistan on Friday agreed to halt all military action along the borders starting 5 pm IST, following a crucial conversation between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) of both countries and the ceasefire understanding was reached after Pakistan’s DGMO initiated a call to his Indian counterpart at 3:35 pm, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said.
In a statement, Misri confirmed that it was mutually decided to stop all forms of firing and military operations across land, air, and sea. “Today, instructions have been given on both sides to give effect to this understanding,” he said.
