Nine terror camps were precisely targeted during the operation. The government stated that India does not wish to escalate the situation, but will not back down if provoked.

Support from opposition parties

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said that all political parties expressed unity and maturity, offering their full support to the armed forces and the government. He said there was no space for politics in such national matters, and all parties praised the armed forces for their actions.

Rijiju said, “All parties gave their suggestions. Everyone appreciated the Army’s action and stood behind the government’s decisions. There was also a suggestion that we must remain alert in case the situation escalates further.”

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge appreciated the government’s briefing but questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s absence from the meeting. He said, “We listened to what the government shared. We are with the government during this crisis. But the PM did not attend, maybe he thinks he is above Parliament. We will raise this question later.”

Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, said Congress fully supports the government. He added, “It is good that the government has taken us into confidence, just like it did earlier. We support this step.”

According to sources, some opposition leaders demanded a special session of Parliament to discuss the situation in more detail. Rahul Gandhi also supported this demand.
