Kolkata: The murder of merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput by his wife Muskan Rastogi in Meerut or the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi by his wife Sonam during their honeymoon in Meghalaya has created a sense of panic among the husbands in India. Amid the flutter of fear, an interesting incident has taken place in Uttar Pradesh.
In Chandauli, a husband quietly handed over his wife to her boyfriend after 10 days of marriage. He reportedly said, “Neither I want to become Raja Raghuvanshi nor Saurabh Rajput.” Notably, both were allegedly killed by their wives due to extramarital affairs.
The said incident took place in the Saidpura village of Mughalsarai Kotwali area. Shamsher, a resident of the village, married Khushi, a young woman from Mawai Khurd on June 4. After the wedding, when the guests left the house, the newlywed bride expressed her desire to leave her husband.
On June 14, the husband and wife went to Mughalsarai. While roaming in the city, the duo began to eat chaat in the market when Khushi suddenly disappeared. It sent Shamsher into a state of panic, as he frantically searched for his wife, but to no avail.
The wife insisted on staying with her boyfriend
Shamsher filed a missing report of the wife in Mughalsarai Kotwali. The police registered a missing person case and began to probe. On June 17, the police found Khushi with her lover from Varanasi. Her husband was informed, and Shamsher reached Mughalsarai Kotwali with his family. Khushi insisted on going with her boyfriend, referring to being an adult.
The bride’s boyfriend lives in the nearby neighbourhood
Shamsher has reportedly said that neither he wants to die packed in a drum nor by falling into a ditch. He decided to no longer keep Khushi with him. Later, based on the agreement, the police sent her away with her lover who lives in the nearby neighbourhood. The three families (those of Shamsher, Khushi and her lover) agreed to this.
