IMD forecasts heavy rain for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and THESE states

New Delhi: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert predicting significant rainfall across various regions. Many states are likely to receive widespread light to moderate rainfall, while some areas could experience heavy to very heavy showers over the next few days.

Northwest India is expected to experience dry weather with no major rainfall predicted for the next week. Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal are predicted to experience isolated very heavy rainfall from October 14 to October 16. 

South Peninsular India likely to witness for heavy showers

Southern India is expected to experience extensive rainfall this week, with fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rain forecast for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep and South Interior Karnataka. These areas are likely to witness regular showers, with occasional heavy rain over specific days.

Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal are predicted to experience isolated very heavy rainfall from October 14 to October 16. IMD has forecast isolated heavy rainfall over Kerala and Mahe throughout the week, with Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal likely to receive heavy rainfall again on October 13 and 17. Similarly, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema and South Interior Karnataka will also see heavy downpours between October 13 and October 17.

Northeast and East India to receive moderate rain

The Northeastern states of India are expected to experience fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall this week. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands will see consistent rain, with heavy showers predicted on October 13. Arunachal Pradesh is likely to receive widespread rain for the next two days, while Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura will experience scattered showers over the next two days. 

The IMD has also issued a warning for isolated heavy rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh and Assam on October 13.

Weather forecast Western and Central India

Western and Central India will see a mix of weather conditions this week. Gujarat is expected to experience scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall over the next three days, with heavy rain expected in some areas.

 Light to moderate rainfall is also forecast for Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh, while West Madhya Pradesh will experience rainfall for the next five days.
