New Delhi: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has started the admissions process for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) process. The IGNOU PhD admission 2024 link is activated today, October 30. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for admission to the IGNOU PhD programme through the official website, ignouadm.samarth.edu.in. The IGNOU PhD admission 2024 application fee is Rs 1,000.
To register for IGNOU PhD admissions 2024 candidates first need to visit the official website of IGNOU. Then click the ‘New registration’ link available in the applicant login portal. Next, fill in the name and password and submit. The username will be sent to the candidate through e-mail and SMS. Login and fill out the form, upload the necessary documents and make payment of the application fee. Once done, submit the online application form and download the confirmation page.
Documents required for IGNOU PhD admission
The details and documents required for IGNOU PhD admissions include birth certificate, all academic mark sheets and certificates, caste certificate (if any), income certificate, disability certificate (if any), scanned passport-size photograph, scanned signature, UGC NET-JRF certificate and UGC-NET scorecard.
IGNOU PhD Admission 2024: Eligibility requirements
The below conditions are necessary to apply for IGNOU PhD admission-
- Candidates must have a valid University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) score with Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or only a valid UGC NET score to apply.
- A master’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 55 per cent marks is required. Reserved category candidates need at least 50 per cent passing marks in their master’s.
- Candidates also need to meet the reservation policy for research degree programmes
- Candidates must fulfil the norms of the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT), Government of India
