Kolkata: In a shocking incident, a man from Haryana’s Rohtak district recorded a video in which he levelled harassment accusations against his wife and her alleged boyfriend, and then died by suicide. The deceased, Magan, also known as Ajay, used to live in Rohtak’s Dobh village. On June 18, his body was found hanging from a tree in his village.
In the video, Magan alleged that his wife and her lover were pressuring him to kill his father as it would enable them to sell a piece of land. His wife reportedly sent him a video of herself engaging in an obscene act with her boyfriend, and it pushed Magan to take the extreme step.
According to the claims of Magan’s family, Divya, his wife sent him explicit videos which made him depressed, and he hanged himself last week. In the purported video, Divya could be seen performing an obscene dance with her boyfriend recording her.
Magan, in the video that he recorded before suicide, spoke about the harassment he faced. He alleged that Divya and her lover, Deepak, mentally tortured him and demanded money. As per reports, Deepak is from Maharashtra’s Sambhajinagar and is a police officer. In the video, Magan said strict action should be taken against them and wanted his parents to get his son’s custody. Also, he revealed that Divya was married to another man before she married him.
‘Both of them have tormented me relentlessly’
Magan said in the video, “I, Magan, am ending my life because of my wife Divya and her boyfriend Deepak, who is from Aurangabad (Sambhajinagar) and works in the police. Both of them have tormented me relentlessly. They keep demanding money from me. Today, they are together in a room in Igatpuri, telling me to kill my father and sell the land in my name to buy property in Mumbai. I cannot do this, so I am taking my own life.”
He added that Divya and Deepak were pressurising him to give Rs 5 lakh for the latter’s promotion he was forced to pay. He said, “I sold wheat worth Rs 1.5 lakh and gave the money to Divya. On July 9, I mortgaged my gold bracelet with a jeweller and transferred Rs 2 lakh into Divya’s account. A record of the transactions is kept at our home. Now they are demanding another Rs 1.5 lakh and telling me to kill my father. Because of these two, I am ending my life.”
Also, Magan disclosed, “Divya was already married to someone in Mumbai, which I discovered after a year and a half. At the time, she was pregnant. A lawyer advised me that since she married me under Hindu law without divorcing her first husband, she could be jailed if I left her. Still, I took no action and settled the matter quietly. Now, there is this third man, Deepak, with whom she is involved. I want justice.”
