The deceased woman identified as Reshma Begum, 31, of Singadakunta Basti was at the fair along with her children.

About 50 people of the basti also consumed the food and all of them started complaining of vomiting and diarrhoea on Saturday. Those who fell ill are receiving treatment at various hospitals in the city. Reshma Begum’s health deteriorated on Saturday and she died while being admitted to Nims Hospital.

Around 10 minors were among those who ate the momos. The stall owner was arrested and a case has been registered.

The police believe that the mayonnaise and chilli chutney served with the momos may have been contaminated.
