Bengaluru: A tragic incident in Hyderabad’s Blinds Colony of Nagole has left everyone in shock and disbelief. An elderly, visually impaired couple unknowingly lived beside their deceased son’s body for nearly four days, only discovering the heartbreaking truth after neighbours noticed a strong odor and alerted authorities on Monday. However, the primary investigation has led to no suspicion of foul play.

The deceased, a 30-year-old man, is thought to have passed away in his sleep days earlier, according to a Hyderabad police spokesperson. Officers quickly provided food and water to the frail parents, who were unable to see or sense their son’s passing.

Meanwhile, SHO A. Surya Nayak explained that the couple had repeatedly called out to their son for assistance, unaware of his death. Moreover, in an unrelated but equally devastating incident, a fire broke out late Monday night in the Rein Bazar area of Hyderabad, claiming the lives of another couple due to asphyxiation. Police confirmed that sparks from a gas stove ignited a box of firecrackers stored in the home, which caused smoke to rapidly fill the small, two-room house. While one family member managed to escape with injuries, the couple succumbed to suffocation, marking another tragic loss in the city, just days ahead of Diwali.
