Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla met Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Thursday and held detailed discussions on permanently resettling the local people in the border areas of the state.
Shiv Pratap Shukla also discussed further strengthening of rural infrastructure in the state under the Vibrant Village Programme. The Governor discussed the need to create more facilities for the Army personnel at strategically important locations so that the local people can also avail these facilities.
He also informed the Prime Minister about the campaign being run to promote natural farming and against drug addiction in the state. The Governor briefed the Prime Minister in detail about his visits to villages in tribal districts under the Vibrant Village Programme.
He said that various schemes are being implemented under the Vibrant Village Program in the districts, but there is a need to further strengthen the infrastructure in these areas to prevent migration of local people. The Governor also had a courtesy meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday evening.
