There is heavy snowfall in Arunachal Pradesh, due to which the government has issued an avalanche warning in the state. The Meteorological Department has attributed this to Western Disturbance. Heavy snowfall is currently occurring in many towns and villages in the hilly border areas and high altitude areas of Arunachal Pradesh. Many areas including Tawang, Mechuka, Chaglagam, Bomdila, Sarli have been covered with white sheets of snow, making them look like a winter wonderland.
Administration issued instructions
In view of the heavy snowfall in the state, the district administration has issued a warning to the local people and travelers. He has urged people to be cautious. In view of the slippery and challenging road conditions, the administration has advised passengers to drive with extra caution. Anini in Dibang Valley, Tawang and Mechukha in Shi Yomi have been transformed into a wonderland adorned with hills and dense forests covered with a thick layer of snow.

However, the allure of winter also brings many challenges. Due to heavy snowfall, dozens of trucks and vehicles are stranded in and around Sela Pass, near Sela Tunnel. At the same time, many passengers are stranded without food for the last three days.
Due to snowfall, the minimum temperature in the north-eastern states has dropped significantly. The temperature in Tawang has reached minus 2.4 degrees Celsius. On February 2, the temperature in Hailakandi, Assam was recorded at 17.5 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of this cold weather continuing. At the same time, there may be light to moderate snowfall and rain in many areas of the state next week.
