‘Had Nehru accepted Patel’s suggestion, terrorism would have ended’: PM Modi

New Delhi: Following a roadshow on the second day of his two-day visit to Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a huge gathering on Tuesday.

Celebrating 20 years of Gujarat’s Urban Growth Story, launched by him in 2005, PM Modi will launch the Urban Development Year 2025 and lay the foundation for several development projects in Gandhinagar.

Speaking in his public address, PM Modi stated that “the first terrorist attack in India was carried out by Pakistan in 1947, immediately after India-Pakistan partition, in Kashmir, which took away from us the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.”

Pointing apparently towards the Nehru, PM Modi  said, “Had they followed the Sardar Vallabh Bhai’s suggestion to continue military operations against the Pakistani raiders, terrorism would have been wiped out once and for all.”

“I have been in Gujarat for the past two days, yesterday I visited Vadodara, Dahod, Bhuj, Ahmedabad and this morning, Gandhinagar. Everywhere I went, it felt like a wave of patriotism, like the roaring sound of a saffron sea. The roar of the saffron sea, the fluttering Tricolour and immense love for the motherland in every heart. It was a sight to behold, it was an unforgettable scene…”

During his first visit to his home state after India carried out Operation Sindoor against Pakistan,  PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 5,536 crore.

The roadshow on the second and final day of PM Modi’s visit saw huge crowds lined up to welcome him. During the road show, patriotic songs were played, theme-based tableaus were displayed, and vibrant cultural performances were held along the stretch where the PM’s cavalcade passed through.

The roadshow started at the Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar and ended at Mahatma Mandir. On the first day of his visit PM Modi held roadshows in Vadodara, Bhuj and Ahmedabad on Monday.
