‘Habitual liar’: Congress launches campaign against Kejriwal ahead of Delhi polls

New Delhi: A day ahead of Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi’s rally in Delhi for the upcoming Assembly polls, the Congress on Sunday released a clip accusing  AAP government and its party chief Arvind Kejriwal of not fulfilling its promises it made to the residents of Delhi.

Sharing the clip on its X handle, the party said, “ Arvind Kejriwal has the habit of saying lies. He had cheated the people of Delhi with his lies. He had promised to clean the Yamuna river, which was not done to date. He had also promised to make Delhi free of pollution, but instead, the city has now become a gas chamber.”

‘Half of AAP leaders have been in jail on corruption charges’

“Kejriwal had also promised to fight corruption. However, half of AAP leaders have been in jail in recent times on corruption charges. He had also promised to improve education and health facilities in Delhi. The fact is that both education and health segments have been destroyed in Delhi. Kejriwal cheated the people of Delhi with fake promises. Kejriwal never bothered about the people of Delhi, but only focussed on corruption and making Sheeshmahal for himself. Things will now change as the people will bring Congress to power in Delhi,” the clip added further.

AAP, Congress fighting separately despite being INDIA Bloc partners

Importantly, the Election Commission recently announced the poll dates for Delhi. While the elections will be held on February 5, results will be declared on February 8. There will be a three-cornered fight in Delhi with the ruling AAP, BJP and the Congress in fray. While the AAP and Congress are partners in the INDIA Block alliance both parties have decided to contest separately in Delhi. The Congress had earlier said that it had no hesitation against fighting AAP in Delhi, even as other INDIA Bloc partners were backing AAP.
