Gujarat registers 34 new corona cases
The number of active cases has risen to 34 in Gujarat, with 21 new cases reported on Thursday. Of these, 32 cases are from Ahmedabad alone. Additionally, lack of infrastructural facilities, had led to the admission of the 3 patients in 3 different hospitals of Ahmedabad.
Isolation wards have been set up in AMC-run hospitals to deal with the increasing cases of Corona. Wards have been established in SVP, Shardaben and LG hospitals.
According to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC),patients who tested positive, showed symptoms like fever, cough, and other symptoms. Therefore 32 patients were recommended home isolation. The officials told The Indian Express that only one of these 34 patients had international travel history. The person had travelled to Singapore.
Significantly, none of the family members of the patients have been infected so far. The doctor asserted that all 34 patients are the only infected members in their respective households. He also added, “Of the active cases in Gujarat, 13 are in Ahmedabad city and one each is in Rajkot city and Ahmedabad rural. These cases are of the Omicron JN.1 variant, which is less severe. It is not a matter of great concern for Gujarat or India at this point.”
Many cases were recorded in countries like China, Thailand and Singapore in recent weeks. Doctors asked patients to stay calm and not worry. If anyone develops any symptoms, they should seek medical assistance, immediately, they added.
