Dehradun: The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has given its in-principle consent to the proposed venues for holding different sports competitions during the national games 2025 which Uttarakhand hosts.
The IOA’s Games Technical Conduct Committee (GTCC), which recently visited the proposed venues for different sports competitions, is scheduled to visit Dehradun on December 14 and 15. During the stay of the GTCC, the dates and venues for holding sports competitions are likely to be announced.
GTCC submitted its tour report to the IOA
The IOA president P T Usha held a meeting with the GTCC in New Delhi on Sunday. The GTCC also handed over its tour report of Uttarakhand to the IOA president. All the technical aspects of the national games 2025, selected venues, the dates for holding different sports competitions were discussed at the meeting.

16 sports competitions are proposed to be held in Dehradun, three in Haridwar, two in Gularbhoj, one in Rishikesh, three in Rudrapur, 8 in Haldwani, and two in Nainital. The state government has prepared all the infrastructure facilities at all these proposed sites. At the meeting, the general secretary of Uttarakhand Olympic Association D K Singh participated. Singh also extended an invitation to IOA president P T Usha to visit Uttarakhand. The IOA president has accepted the invitation.
According to Singh, the meeting lasted for four hours, and discussion was held for holding the national games 2025. The IOA has agreed in-principle for the proposed venues of different sports competitions.

The preparations for holding the national games 2025 are in its full swing in the hill state. The special principal secretary, sports, Amit Sinha said every possible step is taken in this direction. National sports secretariat also ensures the completion of required infrastructure and other facilities within stipulated time. Sinha said the officials and personnel associated with preparations of the national games 2025 will be granted leave only in special circumstances.
