Greater Noida to get uninterrupted power supply on Diwali | THIS is what you can do

Greater Noida: To avoid any untoward incidents related to electricity and to make supply of electricity seamless during Diwali, the Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) has formed 32 teams for both urban and rural areas. These teams have been given the responsibility to address every electricity related issues, throughout the day.

To ensure uninterrupted power supply in Greater Noida, 10 teams in Urban areas, 6 in Surajpur, 5 in Kasna, and 5 in Greater Noida West will be deployed. For ensuring electrical safety during Diwali, 6 additional teams will be deployed in Urban areas, Surajpur, Kasna and Greater Noida West. For the convenience of residents the discom has issued helpline numbers which are 0120-6226666 and 9718722222.

Safety advisories by NPCL

The NPCL has also issued several guidelines for promoting safer electrical practices during Diwali celebration. The company urges the residents to keep diyas and candles away from electrical appliances and other flammable objects. It also asks the parents to teach small children to stay away from electrical outlets. It suggests to keep fireworks away from power lines and electrical installations to prevent electrical accidents, fire and power outages.

Power outage complaints earlier this year

Earlier this year, in July, the residents of various sectors of Noida complained of frequent power outages and voltage fluctuations. The asked the authority to upgrade the electrical infrastructure including new transmission lines and substations as soon as possible. The residents of Sectors 28, 29 and 37 alleged that the area is experiencing frequent power outages for the last few weeks. This caused a huge inconvenience to the residents who said that there was no action despite submitting several complaints.
