New Delhi: In a first of its legal kind and medical development, jailed gangster, Sandeep Jhanjariya alias Kala Jathedi was permitted by a Delhi court to undergo an IVF-related procedure from within the confines of Tihar jail. The decision was taken after his wife, Anuradha Choudhary, also an accused in multiple criminal cases, moved the court seeking a resolution.
The court while denying parole to the gangster, allowed the IVF procedure to be conducted inside its premises. On June 14, between 6 am and 7 am, doctors from a Gurugram based IVF centre, under strict supervision and with prior coordination from the jail authorities, collected the semen sample in Tihar.
Wish to uphold family’s legacy

The court said that the sample after collection should be handed over to the hospital representative under Jathedi’s supervision so that it can be sent to the hospital within an hour.
Additional sessions judge Deepak Wason on June 9 allowed Jathedi’s application. After this procedure, his semen sample was collected from Tihar on June 14.
