New Delhi: On the auspicious occasion of Dusshera, acclaimed director Anil Sharma, known for his blockbuster Gadar 2, officially announced his next big project, Vanvaas. The film will star his son, Utkarsh Sharma, alongside veteran actor Nana Patekar in lead roles. Slated to hit theatres on December 20, Vanvaas promises to be an emotional journey that fans are already buzzing about.
The official announcement came through a joint Instagram post featuring the Gadar 2 team, including Anil Sharma, Utkarsh Sharma, Nana Patekar, Rajpal Yadav, Simratt Kaur Randhawa, and Zee Studios.

Anil Sharma has described Vanvaas as an “emotional Gadar” for modern times, emphasising that the film will resonate with every viewer. Set in the spiritual city of Banaras, the story includes the grand Kumbh festival as its backdrop.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Sharma shared, “Banaras mein hai, Kumbh hai aur bahut hi emotional trauma hai. Ye journey of life hai, har aadmi ka jeevan hai…har aadmi se connect karega (It is set in Banaras, and includes Kumbh. It is an emotional trauma and journey of life, which everyone will relate to).”
