French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Jaipur on Thursday afternoon, where after visiting historical sites like Amer Fort, he will participate in a road show with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the evening, both the leaders will also hold talks to strengthen India-France bilateral relations. Macron will be the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations in Delhi on January 26. He will stay for a few hours in Jaipur during his India tour. Earlier, Governor Kalraj Mishra and Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma welcomed Macron at the airport. Prime Minister Modi, who visited Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh, will later reach Jaipur. The Macron-Modi road show will start from Jantar Mantar here and end at Hawa Mahal.
According to details provided earlier by officials, the French President may also go shopping in the Hawamahal area. The shopkeeper who runs a shop by the name of ‘Sahu Chai Wale’ told that both the leaders will stop at his place to drink masala tea. However, there is no official information regarding this. He will be paid digitally through UPI. Macron reached Amer Fort from the airport. School children and common people welcomed the convoy at various places on the way. Macron greeted the children by shaking hands at many places. Even in the fort, he was seen talking to the people present there and getting photographs taken with them. Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari were also present in the fort. Here Macron also stopped for some time to watch a cultural program. Modi and Macron leaders will also hold a road show from Jantar Mantar to Hawa Mahal and there is a plan to hold a meeting at Hotel Rambagh Palace in the evening.
