‘Free revdi has reached US’: Kejriwal on Trump’s 50% power price cut promise

New Delhi: AAP national convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday reacted to a promise made by Donald Trump, Republican candidate in the US presidential election. Trump announced that, if elected, he would reduce electricity prices by 50 percent within a year.

Kejriwal reacted to this on social media platform X, humorously comparing Trump’s promise to Delhi’s free electricity scheme, saying, “Delhi’s free Revdi has reached America.”

What Donald trump promised

Donald Trump had made this promise in a tweet where he promised to lower energy and electricity prices in the United States. He said that increasing the country’s power capacity would cut inflation and help America, especially states like Michigan, become ideal places for building factories.

The US presidential election will be held on November 5. The contest is primarily between two major political parties—the Republican Party, represented by Trump, and the Democratic Party, with Kamala Harris as their candidate.

Harris, the current Vice President, is aiming to become the first woman President of the United States. The new President and Vice President will take office after the swearing-in ceremony on January 20, 2025.
