Misri’s is expected to cover a broad range of topics before the panel, including the current state of diplomatic relation with Islamabad and emerging cross-border security challenges. According to reports, the briefing will further offer insight into the twin-track approach by the government.

Fragile state of India-Pakistan relations

The briefing is more significant given the fragile state of India-Pakistan relations and growing global scrutiny on South Asian security dynamics. Misri has previously briefed Parliament on other developments, including ties with Bangladesh and Canada.

Meanwhile, the Centre has announced the dispatch of all-party delegations to 33 global capitals to engage with foreign leaders and stakeholders to communicate India’s firm resolve to counter terrorism and its commitment to peace and stability.
