“The whole country is united against terrorism. Instead of making hollow claims of the situation being normal in Jammu and Kashmir, the government should now take accountability and take concrete steps so that such barbaric incidents do not happen in the future and innocent Indians do not lose their lives like this,” he added.

LeT’s proxy terror group claims attack

Earlier on Tuesday, terrorists opened fire at a famed resort near Pahalgam town killing 26 people of whom mostly were tourists. The attack was later claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF), the group which is a proxy of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist organisation. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi, who was in Saudi Arabia on a two-day visit, cut short his visit and departed for New Delhi after the attack.
