“The Congress Party is realising the hard way that making unreal promises is easy but implementing them properly is tough or impossible. Campaign after campaign they promise things to the people, which they also know they will never be able to deliver. Now, they stand badly exposed in front of the people! ,” he wrote on X on Monday. Earlier on Thursday, Kharge had asked Congress unit chiefs in states to make only guarantees to the people that are possible to be fulfilled.

Hitting out at the party further he asked the people to be ‘vigilant’ against Congress’ ‘fake promises. “The people of the country will have to be vigilant against the Congress-sponsored culture of fake promises! Previously, in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan they promised certain allowances which were never implanted for five years. There are numerous such examples of how the Congress works.”

Earlier, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar had indicated that the state government would revisit the ‘Shakti’ scheme, which was launched to provides free bus travel for all women in the state.
