On Friday, a sudden fire broke out in the expensive cars parked inside the car market in Janata Colony adjacent to the Jalandhar-Amritsar National Highway. In this incident, a BMW, 3 Audis and an Indica car were burnt to ashes. The cause of the fire is not known at present. The fire brigade team reached the spot and controlled the fire with the help of people. There has been a loss of more than Rs 50 lakh in the incident.
Eyewitnesses said that among the expensive vehicles parked in the car market, an Audi car was the first to catch fire. After this the flames increased. The fire assumed a monstrous form. Within no time the fire engulfed other cars parked there as well. People first informed the owner of the car market about this incident. After this the fire brigade control room was informed.
People and the fire brigade team brought the fire under control after 2 hours of hard work. But by then everything was destroyed. Five vehicles were badly burnt in the incident. Many other vehicles have also been damaged. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police of Police Station Division No. 1 also reached the spot. The fire was brought under control in time. More than 20 cars were parked nearby.

The owner of the car market said that there was a loss of more than Rs 50 lakh due to the fire. Fire brigade personnel reached the spot and controlled the fire, otherwise about 20 more vehicles parked there could have also caught fire.
