Encounter breaks out in Kashmir’s Kulgam after terrorists fire on security forces

New Delhi: An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in Badimarg area of Yaripora in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday, officials said.

According to officials, terrorists fired upon joint parties of security forces as they were cordoning off Badimarg area of Kulgam in south Kashmir.

Initially, some firing was heard amid cordon and search operations (CASO) between terrorists and security forces in Badimarg area of Yaripora.

An official informed that a joint team of security forces launched a CASO on specific information about the presence of terrorists in the area.

The officials said that as forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon them which was retaliated to leading to a gunfight.
