EC urges political parties to use Artificial intelligence responsibly

New Delhi: As campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections in Delhi intensifies, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday issued an advisory urging political parties to use Artificial intelligence (AI) responsibly.

The election body also urged all the political parties to disclose if they are using AI in videos and photos related to their election campaigns.

What Election Commission said on use of AI in election campaign?

“Clearly label any image, video, audio or other materials generated or significantly altered by AI technologies with a notation such as AI-Generated, Digitally Enhanced, or Synthetic Content,” said EC in its circular.

“All political parties are urged to adhere to the advisory to ensure fair, transparent and responsible use of emerging technologies in election campaigning,” added the ECI.
