During his stay in Karnal, Chief Minister Manohar Lal inspected the national level hockey stadium built in Kailash village and took stock of the arrangements there and said that it will be inaugurated soon. On this occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated the hockey players for the construction of the new stadium and said that the players should practice in the best manner in this stadium and bring glory to the state and the country in national and international level sports. He said that Haryana government is promoting sports. Now modern sports facilities are being provided to the players in the villages so that the players can practice better in their own villages.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner and KSCL CEO Anish Yadav said that sports infrastructure is developing rapidly in the city under the Smart City Mission. With these facilities, the players here will get opportunities to hone their talent in their own city. The construction work of a national level hockey stadium in Kailash village, one of these sports facilities, has almost been completed. Soon it will be dedicated to the public.
He told that this hockey stadium has been built as per the standards of the International Federation of Hockey. An amount of about Rs 18 crore 27 lakh has been spent on its construction and this stadium has been built on 6 and a half acres of land. The special thing is that Astro Turf is made with foreign technology. 6 sprinklers have been installed in the main ground. Apart from this, 72 LED lights of one thousand watts each have been installed on 4 poles of 34 meter height to illuminate the field. A large LED screen has also been installed for the scoreboard. A separate 400 KV transformer has been installed in the stadium and a 160 KV generator has also been arranged.
He said that matches can be organized in the hockey stadium at any time of the day or night. There is seating arrangement for 600 spectators in the stadium in which three galleries have been made. It has a VIP gallery with seating for 100 people. Along with this, two other galleries have been made for general audience which can seat 250 spectators each. At the base of each gallery, three rooms, bathrooms and toilets have been made separately for male and female players. On this occasion, Mayor Renu Bala Gupta, District President Yogendra Rana and senior officials and dignitaries were present.
