DoT combats cyberfrauds: Central system to stop spoofed calls to be commissioned soon

New Delhi: In response to the growing threat of spoof international calls with Indian numbers , DoT in coordination with TSPs has introduced a system to identify and block such calls. 

45 lakh spoof international calls with Indian numbers are being blocked by TSPs daily as a result.

With respect to the unfortunate incident in Agra, the WhatsApp account of the fraud number, by which the call was made has been disengaged.

With regard to the unfortunate incident of a fraud call in Agra, the WhatsApp account of the fraudulent mobile number has been disengaged. The call was made via WhatsApp.

It is our earnest request to citizens, in case a message/call is suspected fraudulent, it should be…

Citizens are requested to report such fraudulent calls/messages to Chakshu portal at sancharsaathi.gov.in 

And such unfortunate cases should be reported via cybercrime.gov.in as well.
