Don’t mistake India’s humility for weakness: TMC’s Abhishek Banerjee attacks Pakistan over terrorism

New Delhi: Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, who is part of the delegations India has dispatched to foreign lands to spread the message of its zero-tolerance towards terrorism, has attacked Pakistan and warned them about India’s strength. While speaking from South Korea’s Seoul, Banerjee was talking about the success of Operation Sindoor when he made the comments regarding Pakistan.

A delegation has recached South Korea after visiting Japan as part of the Centre’s effort to highlight the importance of Operation Sindoor on global stage and its fight against terrorism. Banerjee attended a meeting along with other members of the delegation where he accused Pakistan of supporting terrorism.

According to the Trinamool MP, “Those who were seen at the funeral of the terrorists killed in India’s retaliation were not ordinary Pakistani soldiers. They were the army chief and the heads of various departments of the army. It is practically clear after this incident that Pakistan directly supports terrorism.”

Abhishek added, “TRF claimed responsibility for the Pahalgam attack after 24 hours. Who is this TRF? They are the shadow organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba. And when India killed those Lashkar terrorists, Pakistani army officers and leaders attended their last rites.”

It is worth noting that India believes in humility and peace. Despite having plenty of proof, it did not go to war against Pakistan. Rather, it destroyed the terrorist bases inside their country. Over the week, this sentiment has been echoed by everyone from PM Modi to Army commanders. The same words were heard from Abhishek in his speech in South Korea on Monday. He said, “We all have to fight in an organized manner. We have to eliminate terrorism from the world. We don’t want any kind of war. We don’t want unrest. But don’t mistake our humility for weakness.”

Earlier, during his stay in Japan as part of the Indian delegation, Abhishek Banerjee branded Pakistan as the “vile handler” of terrorism. He was addressing the Indian diaspora when he made those remarks. He said, “If terrorism is a rabid dog, Pakistan is its vile handler. We must first unite the world to tackle this wild handler, else it will continue to breed more rabid dogs.”

It marked the first detailed statement by a TMC functionary on Operation Sindoor and its aftermath. He added, “We are all aware of how Pakistan tried to dissociate Lashkar from the list. Moreover, after the air strikes, public domain images showed senior Pakistan army officials attending the funerals of the terrorists killed in the strikes. Footage does not lie, it’s all in the open.”
