Falling on the auspicious Dwadashi Tithi, this day is marked by the worship of Lakshmi-Kuber Puja and the lighting of Yama Deepam, traditions believed to usher in good health and prosperity. Devotees light lamps and offer heartfelt prayers to Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Kuber, inviting fortune and abundance into their homes.

On October 30, the Trayodashi Tithi will be observed with rituals such as Kali Chaudas and Hanuman Puja. Kali Chaudas carries profound significance, as devotees honour Mahakali Mata, seeking her protection, strength, and the removal of negativity from their lives.

On Thursday, October 31, 2024, Abhyang Snan will be observed, marking an important day in the Diwali festival week. This day falls on the Chaturdashi Tithi and is known as Narak Chaturdashi or Tamil Deepavali in various regions. Early morning purification baths are taken to signify the cleansing of the body and soul. Additionally, Kali Puja will be performed to seek the blessings of Goddess Kali for protection and to dispel negativity. This day emphasises spiritual cleansing and prepares for the grand celebration of Diwali.

November 1, 2024 – Friday:

On Friday, November 1, 2024, Diwali will be celebrated, coinciding with the Amavasya Tithi. The day is dedicated to Lakshmi Puja and Ganesha Puja, as devotees pray for wealth, prosperity, and wisdom. November 2, 2024 – Saturday:

On November 2, the Pratipada Tithi marks the celebration of Govardhan Puja, also referred to as Annakut. This day features the traditions of Bali Pratipada and Dyuta Krida. Devotees honour Lord Krishna, commemorating his act of lifting the Govardhan Hill, which symbolises divine protection. The occasion is celebrated with a grand feast as a gesture of gratitude for the prosperity and blessings of the new year.

November 3, 2024 – Sunday:

On the Dwitiya Tithi, Bhaiya Dooj, also known as Bhau Beej, celebrates the cherished bond between siblings. On this day, sisters perform rituals to pray for their brothers’ protection and happiness.
