Delhi’s Akshardham Temple celebrates Swaminarayan Jayanti and Ram Navami with devotion and joy

New Delhi: Devotees came together on Sunday to celebrate two significant festivals—Swaminarayan Jayanti and Ram Navami—both falling on Chaitra Sud 9, a spiritually important day in the Hindu calendar.

On Instagram, Delhi Akshardham posted a heartfelt message, “On Swaminarayan Jayanti, Today, on Chaitra Sud 9, we celebrate the divine birth of Bhagwan Shri Swaminarayan, who revitalized Sanatan Dharma, established the Swaminarayan Sampraday, and continues to inspire countless spiritual seekers on the path of moksha through the presence of Gunatit Gurus. May we all realize His true glory. Swaminarayan Bhagwan ni Jay!”

Swaminarayan Jayanti marks the birth of Bhagwan Shri Swaminarayan, who was born in 1781. He is known for founding the Swaminarayan Sampraday, a spiritual movement that promoted values like non-violence, celibacy, honesty, and service to society. Even today, his teachings continue to guide millions through the presence of Gunatit Gurus, or self-realized spiritual leaders.

The same message was echoed on X with the hashtag #SwaminarayanJayanti, where devotees shared their prayers and gratitude, remembering Swaminarayan Bhagwan’s contribution to reviving Sanatan Dharma.

Along with Swaminarayan Jayanti, the temple also observed Ram Navami, the birthday of Bhagwan Shri Ram, the hero of the epic Ramayana.

On Instagram, another message honuored Ram’s teachings, “Shri Ram Janmotsav. On this auspicious day of Chaitra Sud 9, we celebrate the birth of Bhagwan Shri Ram—an embodiment of dharma, resilience, and unwavering devotion. His ideals of truth, duty, and selfless love continue to guide and inspire millions. May Bhagwan Ram’s divine virtues lead us towards righteousness and inner strength. While the two celebrations honour different spiritual figures, both carry a similar message—living a life of truth, duty, and service to others. The joint observance of Swaminarayan Jayanti and Ram Navami on the same day brought a special sense of spiritual unity and joy for millions of devotees across the globe.

From vibrant temple rituals to peaceful family prayers, the air was filled with devotion and reflection, reminding everyone of the timeless values taught by Shri Swaminarayan and Shri Ram.
