New Delhi: The SpiceJet staff and passengers had an altercation at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in New Delhi last night, the video of which has gone viral. In the video, passengers can be seen seeking answers from SpiceJet staff after being stranded for hours at the airport.

It may be noted that the Spicejet flight SG 646 was scheduled to take off from the airport to Bengaluru at 10:45 pm on Thursday. The clip shows passengers asking for accommodation and compensation from the airline’s staff. To this, the airline’s staff can be seen asking them to approach the concerned department of the airline.

The flight took off at 5 AM this morning

After much delay and uproar, the airline managed to arrange an alternative flight for the passengers at around 5 AM this morning. Spicejet has not yet issued any statement on the matter. Importantly, the flight services of several airlines remained affected early on Friday due to heavy fog. Close to 100 flights were delayed, and 10 others were cancelled.

Delhi airport issues advisory for passengers

Issuing an advisory early this morning, the Delhi airport issued an advisory saying that flights not compliant with CAT III compliant are likely to get affected. It also asked to stay in touch with concerned airlines for information about timings. The facility helps flights to operate during low-visibility conditions. Earlier, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had forecast partly cloudy skies with smog and dense fog in several parts of Delhi/NCR during the morning.
