New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Friday granted interim relief in a case concerning the misuse of Sadhguru’s personality rights, directing several online platforms to take down content that falsely uses his name, image and likeness.
The order came in response to a plea filed by Sadhguru and the Isha Foundation, who approached the court after witnessing a surge in fake, AI-generated content involving Sadhguru. These manipulated videos, audios, and images have reportedly been used to promote products and drive traffic under false pretenses by leveraging his reputation.
The case was heard on Friday, following growing concern on social media over deceptive campaigns using Sadhguru’s identity. Many users had raised alarms about these scams, which include deepfakes and fabricated visuals meant to mislead the public.
Following the hearing, the Delhi High Court instructed various digital platforms to remove such misleading content without delay. In response to the ruling, the Isha Foundation wrote on X, “These scams include fake AI-generated videos, morphed images depicting false events, such as Sadhguru’s arrest, and misleading advertisements promoting financial investments. Isha Foundation has been proactively working to remove such fake content and prevent individuals from falling prey to these scams.”
