New Delhi: In a tragic incident, a 34-year-old neurosurgeon working at at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was found dead in his South Delhi residence on Sunday. As per the police, the doctor identified as Raj Ghonia seemed to have died by suicide.
Deceased a resident of Rajkot in Rajasthan
Sharing details, the police said that the deceased, a resident of Rajkot in Gujarat, seems to have died from a suspected overdose. The police recovered used vials of medicines and syringes from his residence in the Gautam Nagar area of the national capital. Even as a suicide note was recovered from his residence, the police said that the deceased did not blamed anyone for his death.
Delhi Police receives PCR in the afternoon
“At around 2 pm on Sunday, a PCR call was received at the Hauz Khas police station regarding the suicide of a doctor in the Gautam Nagar area. Police reached the spot and found Ghoniya in an unconscious state,” news agency PTI quoted a senior police officer as saying. Soon after, he was taken to AIIMS for treatment, but the doctor was declared brought dead.
Last month, an elderly man died after jumping from the elevated Nangloi Metro station in the national capital. “A PCR call was received at 1:03 pm at Nangloi police station that a person jumped from Maharaja Surajmal Metro Station platform No 1 to road side with suicidal intent,” the Delhi Police said in a statement. The man was taken to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital by Ambulance where he was declared brought dead. The deceased was identified as Harish (49). He was a resident of Sec-7, Rohini.
