New Delhi: For all the CID fans, we have got good news for you. The makers of the longest-running television show have announced season two of CID. The official Instagram page of Sony TV teased the new season of the show with a new video and fans are just getting nostalgic.
In the promo, ACP Pradyuman, played by the actor Shivaji Satnam, can be seen stepping out of a vehicle in the pouring rain and rushing to a bomb site with the camera intensely zooming on Abhijeet. Staying true to their theme, the tension builds as the iconic theme of the show plays in the background. The next promo of the show will drop on October 26.

According to the Pinkvilla report, the shoot of the show will begin in November this year in Mumbai. A source told the publication that the makers received constant demands from fans to bring the cult show back on a small screen and the team worked extensively on multiple scripts to chalk out a perfect new season, adding, “The entire cast – Shivaji Satam, Aditya Shrivastava, Dayanand Shetty – heard the script and jumped to the idea of bringing CID back after a gap of 6 years.”
According to a source quoted by the entertainment portal, the shoot of the show will begin on November 15 and is likely to air on television around Christmas or New Year this year.

The source was also quoted as saying, “Over the years, audiences have given so much love to the TV show, and now is the time to give back the love to the audience. The new CID series is being written keeping the present taste buds of audiences in mind, and will involve the use of new-age technologies too, to solve the cases.”

The popular show, CID, began airing in 1998 and its last episode aired in 2018. Earlier, Shivaji Satam revealed that the show went off-air after 20 years run due to a rift between the show’s producer and the channel.
