Darbhanga: Under the Khelo India Youth Games 2025 Torch Tour program, the Torch Glory Journey reached Darbhanga, where Additional Collector Mr. Rakesh Kumar and District Sports Officer Mr. Parimal jointly handed over the torch to District Magistrate, Darbhanga, Mr. Rajeev Raushan, seeking permission for publicity in the district.

Along with granting permission, the District Magistrate welcomed the team from Patna on behalf of the Darbhanga district administration.

He said that both the central and state governments are promoting sports and athletes, and this awareness campaign is being organized to bring forward players in the field of sports.

Afterwards, at Polo Ground, a detailed presentation on the background of the Games was given to all players through the Torch Glory Journey vehicle.

This torch journey is being conducted to raise awareness about the event among the public.

For the first time, Bihar is hosting the Khelo India Youth Games 2025. To inspire youth and bring them into the mainstream of sports, a public awareness campaign is being run.

At Nehru Stadium Polo Ground, more than 500 athletes from various sports and sports association officials echoed the slogan “Khel ke Rang Bihar ke Sang” (The Colors of Sports with Bihar), and gave a grand welcome. Children also took an oath to include sports in their lives.

On this occasion, the District Sports Officer stated that the Khelo India Torch Glory Journey promotional vehicle will tour various places in the municipal area, spreading the message of public awareness, and will leave for Saharsa tomorrow morning.

Darbhanga Sports Officer Mr. Parimal said that Bihar is hosting the Khelo India Youth Games for the first time, which is a matter of pride. The government is making every possible effort to make this event successful. In this context, the Torch Glory Journey is being organized. Equipped with LED screens and audio-video publicity resources, the real Khelo India torch will travel to all districts of Bihar from April 15 to May 2 and return to Patna by the evening of May 2. On May 4, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Khelo India Youth Games 2025 at Pataliputra Sports Complex by lighting the torch.

To make today’s Torch Glory Journey successful, Secretary of District Kabaddi Association Akalakur Rahman, Joint Secretary Amit Kumar Chaudhary, Secretary of District Kho-Kho Association Rameshankar Chaudhary, Secretary of Volleyball Association Brijesh Kumar Singh, Secretary of Wushu Association Sanjeev Kumar, Secretary of District Athletics Association Yashpal Kumar, and staff from the District Sports Office Sanjeev Kumar, Baldev Kumar, Rakesh Kumar Singh, as well as senior athletes Satyam Kumar, Keshav Kumar, Sitare Hasan, Shoaib Khan, and others participated.
