New Delhi: The Congress party is pulling out all the stops for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, deploying a star-studded lineup of campaigners for the first phase scheduled on September 18. The party has assembled a diverse mix of leaders, encompassing seasoned veterans, rising politicians and influential figures from across the political spectrum, signalling a concerted effort to capture the hearts and minds of voters in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Leading the charge are the party’s stalwarts, Mallikarjun Kharge, the Congress President, and Sonia Gandhi, the former President, who will be spearheading the campaign, drawing on their decades of experience and national stature to regain the ground in the region. Joining them are Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who will be aiming to connect with the youth and women voters.

From experienced parliamentarians like Rajani Patil, Rajiv Shukla, and Manish Tewari to fiery campaigners like Imran Pratapgarhi and K.C. Venugopal, the Congress is utilising its deep pool of talent during the campaigning in J&K.

The party has also tapped into the energy of younger leaders, including Sachin Pilot, Supriya Shrinate, and Kanhaiya Kumar, who are known for their ability to connect with the youth and resonate with contemporary issues.

Furthermore, the Congress has assembled a formidable team from the state of Jammu and Kashmir, including Peerzada Mohd Sayeed, Jairam Ramesh, and Ghulam Ahmad Mir are expected to bring local knowledge and understanding of the region’s unique challenges.
