New Delhi: As the Modi government completes 11 years of being in power, the Congress is set to launch a campaign named “Pol-Khol” that aims to unfold all the failures and unfulfilled promises of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Congress blamed the 11 years of the Modi-led government at the centre as “11 years of Jumla”.
The Congress party claimed to have conducted thorough research on the policies, schemes, and campaigns spearheaded by the Modi government. The grand old party attempts to expose the ruling party based on the statewide performance of the BJP-ruled states.
“Anyay Kaal, crony capitalism”, and many more
The “Pol-Khol” campaign is a fresh, scathing attack on the BJP government. According to the Congress statement, the party would be questioning the BJP on issues such as the “deteriorating economic situation of the country”.
The Congress referred to the situation as “Anyay Kaal”, which they claim witnessed a 45-year high unemployment rate, along with the GDP investment percentage (average over time) that was 33.4 per cent during the UPA and 28.7 per cent in the “Anyay Kaal.” It also highlighted India’s position in the World Hunger Index, which is 105 out of 127 countries.
In a veiled attack on the BJP and private players in the business sector, like Adani and Ambani, Congress called out “crony capitalism”, which they referred to as an economic setup wherein businesses with close ties to the government tend to enjoy unfair advantages.

The Congress also criticised BJP for India’s “deteriorating” foreign policy. The party targeted the BJP for failing to meet its target of becoming a “five-trillion-dollar economy by 2024”, promised by the BJP.
“But with demonetisation, frauds in the banking sector to the tune of ₹90,000 crore, and the accumulation of non-performing assets worth ₹24 lakh crore, India’s situation has worsened day by day,” Congress said in a statement.
No press conference in 10 Years
The campaign has also criticised the Modi government for damaging the social fabric by instigating religious polarisation in the nation. It also blamed the BJP government for “misusing constitutional institutions and agencies” to cater to party needs.
The campaign has also prepared itself to accuse the BJP government of rigging the electoral process.
The campaign additionally blamed the BJP for making constant efforts to take political advantage of the valour of the army. This comes days after the Congress claimed that using Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s photo on railway tickets featuring Operation Sindoor is like “selling the valour of the Army as a product for political gains”.
In concluding remarks of the statement, the Congress party questioned PM Modi’s silence in the last 11 years by not attending a single press conference.
