Congress’ ‘Jai Hind Yatra’ looks more like ‘Jai Pakistan Yatra’: BJP

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday hit back at the Congress and alleged that the main Opposition party’s ‘Jai Hind Yatra’ is looking more like “Jai Pakistan Yatra”. It said that while several Congress leaders asked about the number of fighter jets that India lost during ongoing conflicts with Pakistan, it also accused Jairam Ramesh of equating all-party delegations visiting abroad with terrorists.

Addressing a press conference, Party leader Sambit Patra said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi never asked for details regarding terror sites in Pakistan destroyed during Operation Sindoor nor about the air bases destroyed, party leaders, his party leaders have asked about the destruction of Indian jets more frequently.

‘Some Cong leaders like Gabbar’

Pointing out that these leaders are like ‘Gabbar’ (about the main villain in the Bollywood film Sholay), he said that they will meet the same fate as the villain in the movie. “Gabbar’s defeat is certain due to India’s jai (glory) and veer (valour),” he said as per PTI.

Noting that even Congress is part of part of the delegations visiting abroad to nail Pakistan’s role on terrorism, he said that, ‘Ramesh is comparing them to terrorists.’ On Thursday, Ramesh said that while terrorists of the Pahalgam terror attacks are roaming free, the delegations comprising MPs and others are also roaming across the globe.

The BJP leader also referred to the controversial statements of a few Congress leaders, including those questioning military conflict with Pakistan and the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty, ever since the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people lost their lives and several people were involved. He said that even as the Opposition party might have claimed that it is with the government on the issue of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, is lowering the morale of the armed forces.
