Class 9 fail is showing the way to Bihar’s development: Prashant Kishor’s dig at Tejashwi Yadav

Patna: Chief of the newly launched Jan Suraaj party, Prashant Kishor on Tuesday took a dig at RJD leader and former Deputy CM of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav, questioning his educational qualifications. He also raised doubts about his ability to lead the state on the path of development.

He also cast aspersions on the young RJD leader saying that it was not that he did not have the opportunity to learn, but he deliberately chose not to. He said that Yadav does not understand the meaning and difference between GDP and GDP growth and therefore cannot be an apt candidate to lead the state towards development.

Kishor questions Yadav’s approach to education

The Jan Suraaj chief was quoted by NDTV as saying, “If someone could not get educated because of lack of resources, it is understood. But if someone’s parents are Chief Minister and he could not pass 10th class, then this shows their approach towards education.” He was addressing a gathering in the state’s Bhojpur.

He criticised the RJD leader saying that he could not even pass class 10 and “now a 9th fail is showing the way to Bihar’s development.” One who dies not know the difference between GDP and GDP growth will now tell how Bihar will improve, taunted Kishor.

He said that the only reason that Tejashvi Yadav is the leader of a political party in the state is because he is the son of a former CM and RJD leader, Lalu Prasad Yadav. Kishor said that the leadership had been “bestowed” upon Yadav by virtue of family ties and he needs to work hard to improve his skills, if he wants to build a name for himself, beyond being Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son.

Prashant Kishor criticises RJD leader’s upcoming state tour

Kishor then went on to criticise the upcoming state-wide tour of Tejashvi Yadav, starting September 10. He said that if the RJD leader really wanted to connect to people, he must travel on foot and not rely on a convoy of vehicles. He also dismissed the RJD leader’s promise of government jobs. He said that the 23 lakh government jobs in Bihar form a miniscule 1.97 per cent of the population of the state. According to Kishor, even if Yadav delivers on his promise, nearly 98 per cent of the people of the state will remain unaffected.

Not only did he criticise Yadav for not knowing terms like GDP, he also said that the socialist leader cannot speak for 5 minutes on socialism. He challenged him to speak on the topic for just 5 minutes, without reading out from a paper. He said that the RJD leader does not understand these concepts.

Kishor also touched upon the caste census and the current political discussion going on about it. He said that the issue must not be politicised. He said that parties are using the caste census for political gains. He suggested that parties which genuinely want caste census must first implement it in the states they govern.
