According to Railway offcilas, the special train from Chennai Egmore to Mangalore, numbered 06048, will depart on October 30 at 12:30 pm and arrive at Mangalore on October 31 at 5:15 am. The return journey, numbered 06047, will depart from Mangalore on October 29 at 7:30 pm and reach Chennai Egmore on October 30 at 10:45 am.

Notably, this special train will depart from Egmore, unlike regular trains on this route which typically depart from Central Railway Station. Earlier, special trains from Chennai Central to Nagercoil, Tirunelveli, Madurai, and Bangalore were announced, with tickets selling out within 20 minutes of booking.

The introduction of these special trains aims to provide relief to passengers struggling to secure tickets for the festive season. With the addition of the Chennai to Mangalore route, Southern Railway hopes to accommodate the increased travel demand and ensure a convenient journey for passengers. Railway officials have advised passengers to book tickets in advance to avoid last-minute rush.
