CBI files chargesheet against former Jammu & Kashmir governor Satya Pal Malik in corruption case

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday filed a chargesheet against former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik in a corruption case. The case is related to alleged corruption in Kiru Hydro Power Project. Several raids were earlier conducted by the CBI at Malik’s various premises.

The CBI has filed a chargesheet against Satya Pal Malik and five others in the case.  The case pertains to alleged irregularities in awarding the civil works contract of the Kiru Hydro Power Project. It is located on the Chenab river in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. The project is a part of the region’s energy infrastructure.
