BJP will sweep assembly elections in Maharashtra, Jharkhand: J P Nadda

New Delhi: BJP President J P Nadda expressed confidence on Friday that the party would replicate its success from Haryana in the forthcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. Speaking after visiting the Shri Naina Devi temple and performing Kanjak pujan, Nadda emphasised that citizens are pleased with the performance of the BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

While talking to reporters, he highlighted the BJP’s good showing in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir, attributing their success to the people and divine blessing.

He added that despite the illusions created during the Haryana elections, the BJP ultimately prevailed, apart from increasing vote share in Jammu and Kashmir. “The people of Haryana—youth, farmers, women, and all sectors—sent a clear message to the opposition, demonstrating their faith in Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and policies,” he said.

Nadda pointed out that voter turnout in Jammu and Kashmir rose from six to eight percent to over 60 percent, reflecting public confidence in the democratic process and support for the revocation of Article 370. He said that terrorism is now under control and that the BJP’s goal is not merely to hold power but to ensure the nation’s safety.

The BJP won the recently concluded assembly elections in Haryana, a hat-trick for the party. The party also won 29 out of 90 seats in Jammu and Kashmir.
