New Delhi: The Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of spreading lies about his remarks on Sikhs during his recent visit to the US. The Congress leader further said he did not say anything wrong.
Sharing an old video of his recent visit in the US on his X handle, Rahul Gandhi asked the Sikh community whether he said anything wrong. He asked if shouldn’t India be a country where people can practice their religion freely without any kind of fear.

Hitting out at the BJP further, the former Congress president said that while the BJP is resorting to lies, it is desperate to silence him as they are unable to stand the truth. “But I will always speak up for the values that define India: our unity in diversity, equality, and love,” Rahul Gandhi said further.

During his recent address to the Indian Americans in Herndon in the United States (US) recently, Rahul Gandhi while speaking on the challenges faced by the minorities in India, accused the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of promoting a vision of India where certain religions, communities and languages, are considered “inferior”.
‘Fight not about politics’
In the video shared by Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader can be heard saying that while the fight is not about politics, it is about whether Sikh man will be allowed to wear his turban, kada, and visit gurdwara in India, he said while pointing to a Sikh person.
