New Delhi: The Central Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday approved the final list of candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha by-elections to be held in various states.
The names of nine candidates announced for the Rajya Sabha by-polls from different states scheduled for September 3 were shared by the party after a thorough ground analysis and considering the public opinion, a top BJP leader said. The BJP has fielded Union Ministers Ravneet Singh Bittu from Rajasthan and George Kurian from Madhya Pradesh.
Among the candidates who have been fielded by the BJP are Union ministers, Ravneet Singh Bittu from Rajasthan and George Kurian from Madhya Pradesh.
The saffron party has also named Bar Council of India Chairman and senior advocate Manan Kumar Mishra from Bihar, former BJD leader Mamata Mohanta as its candidate from Odisha and Rajib Bhattacharjee from Tripura.
