Patna: The process of recruitments in various government departments has been accelerated with an objective to fulfil Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar`s resolve to give 12 lakh governments jobs.

Now, Bihar police department is going to recruit 19,838 constables to give a further push to the recruitment drive in the state.

This information was given by Jitendra Kumar, Chairman of the Central Selection Board of Constable Jitendra Kumar in a press conference on Tuesday at the state Police Headquarters, Sardar Patel Bhawan.

Along with this, notification has also been issued for recruitment to the posts of constables in Bihar Police and Bihar Special Armed Police.

6,717 posts reserved for women

As many as 6717 posts out of total 19,838 posts have been specially reserved for female candidates. In the constable recruitment, 50 percent of the posts are reserved for the Home Guards of Bihar.

How to Apply

The online application process for this recruitment will start from March 18, 2025. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of Central Selection Board of Constable – csbc.bihar.govt.in. The last date for application has been fixed as April 18, 2025. The candidates who are successful in all its processes will get a monthly salary of Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100.

Reserved seats

Of the total 19,838 positions 7,935 are for general category candidates, 1983 for economically weaker section, 3174 for scheduled caste (SC) category, 199 for scheduled tribe (ST) category, 3571 for extremely backward class (EBC), 2381 for backward class (BC) (including 53 transgenders) and 595 posts for backward class women (BCW) category candidates.

Apart from this, 397 posts have been identified under the horizontal reservation system for freedom fighter dependents.
