In a meeting with departmental officials at the Sports Department, Bihar, Patna, the Additional Chief Secretary discussed the upcoming Sepak Takraw World Cup 2025. As the event approaches, the Sports Department has completed all preparations to host 20 countries and international players. This prestigious tournament is scheduled to be held from March 20 to 25, 2025, at the Patliputra Sports Complex, Patna.
The department has finalized all necessary arrangements, including international-standard sports facilities, essential amenities for players, security measures, and other organizational requirements. This world-class event will bring Bihar into the global sports spotlight and contribute to the overall development of sports in the state.
Extension of Gram Panchayat and Nagar Panchayat Sports Club Application Deadline Until March 15, 2025
The Additional Chief Secretary has extended the last date for Gram Panchayat and Nagar Panchayat Sports Club applications until March 15, 2025.
Panchayats that have not yet applied now have the opportunity to do so. The initiative aims to receive maximum applications from all Gram Panchayats and Nagar Panchayats. While most applications have already been received, this extension provides a final chance for the remaining ones to apply.
Khelo India Youth Games to Be Held in Five Districts
The Khelo India Youth Games and sports infrastructure development in five districts – Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Rajgir, Gaya, and Patna – remain a top priority. To monitor progress, the Additional Chief Secretary will personally visit the sites along with the Director General of the Bihar State Sports Authority and the Director of Sports.
Monitoring via Dashboard
To ensure real-time monitoring of various sports infrastructure projects in Bihar, the Sports Department will develop a new dashboard. Through this dashboard, District Sports Officers and other field officers will regularly share real-time images of infrastructure development and maintenance. This system will enable effective oversight of project progress.
