Big IT companies fast moving towards Bihar: IT Minister

Patna: Information Technology Minister Krishna Kumar Mantu on Saturday laid the foundation stone for setting up a unit of Superseva Global Services Pvt Ltd at a function held at Bela Industrial Area in Muzaffarpur.

Superseva Global, which develops software for some of the large companies of the world, is the first IT company which has been allotted plot outside Patna in Muzaffarpur.

Within a span of one month, this is the second IT company which has laid stone for setting up its unit in Bihar. On April 25 last, the IT Minister had laid stone for setting up a unit of Benchmark IT Solutions company at a plot allotted by the state government in Bihta Industrial Area in Patna.

Speaking on the occasion, Mantu said that Bihar is making its mark as IT hub like other developed states of the country and many big companies of the country have started showing their interest in investing Bihar.

This is a step in moving towards realising Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s promise to give jobs and employment opportunities to the youths in the state itself, Mantu said.

It may be noted that Superseva Global is among the few IT companies which develops software for companies like Adobe, Barclays, DLF, IBM, IHCL, P&G, Microsoft, Optum & Wipro. Apart from working in the field of software development in Britain and USA, the company is also working in 16 cities of India.

IT department’s Special Secretary Arvind Kumar Chaudhary said the state government is not only providing plots at subsidised rate to the IT companies but also providing incentive for capital investment under Bihar IT Policy 2024.

The company would also get SGST reimbursement as an incentive incorporated under IT policy, Choudhary said and added that the companies making investment outside Patna and Danapur municipal areas will get 10 per cent additional incentive in every head in order to ensure balanced regional development and the Superseva Global Services would also get the incentive as it has invested in Muzaffarpur.

Superseva Global Services CEO Kumud Sharma said that his company would start functioning within a year. The company is making an initial investment of Rs 8 crore and the amount would increase to Rs 20 to Rs 25 crore in next five years, Sharma said while adding that more than 100 people would get job with the setting up of the company.
Company’s Managing Director Ajay Shankar Sharma and a host of other officials were also present on the occasion.
