The traffic police of Bengaluru has introduced a new app named ‘E-Path’ which will help in clearing obstruction in the path of ambulances. Through this app the registered ambulances will be connected to the central traffic control center which will help it in avoiding roadblocks by giving priority alerts. For immediate assistance, an SOS feature has been provided in the app which will ensure faster transportation in emergency situations, as per a report by Prajavani.

Functioning of entire system

For using the service, the ambulance drivers are required to download the app from Google Play Store. After this they need to mark destination points and the level or priority of emergency. If there is any top-priority emergency case, its information will directly reach Traffic Management Centre which will track the live GPS location of the ambulance and clear the route towards its destination. The top priority cases includes severe accidents, heart attacks and other body condition which require quick action. The report added that the red lights of the signals will be turned off once the ambulance reaches near it to evade blockage.

App to alert traffic police in case of slow speed

The E-Path app aims to reduce this traffic congestion and making the path of ambulance free from any obstruction.
