New Delhi: A special seminar and workshop focusing on “Effective Writing” was organised by BAPS Swaminarayan Shodh Sansthan at Swaminarayan Akshardham, New Delhi. The aim of this program was to raise awareness about effective and meaningful style of writing and to provide proper training to the participants on this subject. More than 200 participants from various fields of work enthusiastically participated in the program.

On this occasion, Professor Ramesh Bhardwaj (Vice Chancellor, Maharishi Valmiki Sanskrit University, Kaithal, Haryana), Professor Sachchidanand Mishra (Member Secretary, Indian Council of Philosophical Research), Professor Bhagirathi Nanda (Professor, Lal Bahadur University, New Delhi), Aniruddha Sharma (Deputy Editor, Dainik Bhaskar), Dharmendra Kumar (Director, Patanjali IAS Classes) and Justice Abhilasha Kumari (Former Chief Justice, Manipur High Court and Former Judicial Member, Lokpal) were present.

The first session began with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony at 1:30 pm. In his welcome address, BAPS senior saint Narayanmunidas Swami said, “While words affect our intellectual side, emotions touch our heart. Ramayana is the world’s first poetic text in which Maharishi Valmiki depicted the life of Lord Rama through his experiences. When we write from our authentic experiences, the writing naturally creates impact.”

Later, Mahamahopadhyaya Bhadreshdas Swami, President of BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute, in his keynote address said, “With the development of society, the importance of words also increases. Words shape individuals and give direction to society. It is said in our ancient scriptures that ‘word evidence is the most influential. Writing is a reflection of our culture, thoughts and literature. The prosperity of any civilization is measured by its literature. For effective writing, it is necessary to take inspiration from sages like Vedavyas and poets like Kalidasa. True writing is possible only when it is inspired from within and enriched with experiences.”

After this, Gyanananddas Swami talked about various writing forms like formal writing, creative writing, personal diary writing and press releases and explained the importance of content writing and the basic principles of effective writing.

Patanjali IAS Classes Director Dharmendra Kumar conducted a session on essay writing. Keeping the competitive exams in mind, Prashant Shekhar took a session on the topic “The art of answer writing”. He gave the participants practical tips to improve clarity, structure and impact in answer writing. The session emphasized on understanding the demands of the question, presenting a balanced analysis, and continuous practice as per proven methods. He encouraged the participants to focus not only on the content but also on effective communication. The session concluded with the motivation to adopt regular practice.
